An Irish job board with one rule: you find out what a job pays before you spend an evening applying for it.
Why it exists
“Competitive salary.” “Salary DOE.” “Attractive package.” Anyone who has looked for work in Ireland has read a job advert twice, written a cover letter, sat an interview, and only then discovered the number was never going to work. The information that would have ended it in ten seconds was known to the employer the whole time.
role.ie exists to put that number at the top of the page. Not as a field somewhere in the description — as the thing you read straight after the job title.
What we hold ourselves to
No salary, no listing
Every job carries a range, the unit it is quoted in — annual, day rate, hourly — and whether it is a base figure or on-target earnings. A listing without one does not go up. This is a rule in the database, not a preference.
Every figure says where it came from
Employer-stated, verified with the employer, or our estimate. An estimate is labelled an estimate wherever it appears, including in the structured data search engines read. We would rather show you an unattributed range and say so than let it borrow the credibility of one we can stand over.
You know who receives your application
The employer is named. An agency advertising on an employer’s behalf is labelled as an agency. If an employer takes applications on their own site, we say that and hand you over rather than implying we sent something.
Where we actually are
role.ie is new and small. Being straight about that is not modesty, it is the same rule as the one about salaries — you should be able to tell what you are getting before you spend time on it.

What we have not built
- Accounts. There is no sign-in yet, so no saved jobs and no application history
- CV upload. Deliberately absent until it can be stored properly and privately
- Company reviews. We do not have them and have never had them
- Salary benchmarks of our own. We publish nothing we cannot source — see the note on where Irish pay data comes from
- An employer dashboard. Listings are set up with us by email
